Late June - Early July
I ended the month of June with my first back-to-back charters and it was my best day of fishing. I began the morning with Chris and Duncan Carrol from Norwich, VT. I was fifteen minutes late (I slept through my alarm), but lucked out when Chris called to say that they were running late too. We were on Winni with lines in by 6:00 am. It was slow pickings for the first two hours, but then it really started to heat up. We boated over thirty fish including a 4 1/2 lb lake trout and a 3 lb salmon. Chris and Duncan were really excited and great to have on the boat. The morning was a blast!
I met my next clients at 3:00 - a young angler named Tyler and his grandmother, Yvonne- at the Meredith town docks. We motored out to Governor's Island and we had hits almost as soon as the line dropped into the water. Tyler was an experienced 6 yearold who knew how to land a fish. He and his grandmother boated about a dozen fish - salmon and lake trout. They were a pleasure to fish with on the Kool-Aid.
Unfortunately, the clients that I booked the next week, didn't have as much luck. The cold and rain turned the bite right off and we had little luck pulling in the numbers of the previous week. We did, however, have one fish on that put up a really good fight so that made it a bit exciting for Steve and Zack from MA.
Over the fourth of July, my dad and I left home at 3:00 am to head north to Burlington to fish Lake Champlain. We started off very fast with hits right off and we thought we were in
